Junior scientists felicitated

Five students of the Mangalambal Aided Middle School, Walajapet – U. Madhina, P. Rithika, M. Akthar, S. Suresh and P. Arul Jothi – who were selected Junior Scientists at the 19th District Level National Children's Science Congress (NCSC) 2011 conducted at the Spark Matriculation School here recently, and the teachers who guided them, were felicitated by V. Sivakamasundari, Secretary and Headmistress of the school on Children's Day.

The 19th District Level NCSC 2011 was conducted by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC) Network, the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and the Tamil Nadu Science Forum on the theme, ‘Land Resources: Use for Prosperity, Save Posterity'. The above students, studying in Class VI to VIII were awarded certificates for their critical observations, scientific thinking and skilful presentation of their project report on ‘Soil Management'.

They would be participating in the State-level NCSC to be held at Erode on November 23.
